Today (December 3, 2025), two colleges under DU — Ramjas College (North Campus) and Deshbandhu College (Kalkaji) — reportedly received bomb-threat emails. Police and bomb-squad teams were deployed immediately to inspect the premises and ensure safety.
No suspicious objects or explosives have been confirmed so far; investigations into the origin and credibility of the threat are ongoing.
Exam Schedule & Teacher/Faculty Concerns
DU has announced the semester exam schedule for many undergraduate courses: exams are scheduled to begin from December 10, 2025.
However, the plan to start new semester classes from January 2, 2026 — overlapping with ongoing exams until January 30, 2026 — has triggered strong backlash from teachers, who say the overlap makes it “unworkable” to manage both teaching and exam duties simultaneously.
Vacant Seats → Mop-Up Round for UG Admissions
Despite multiple rounds of admissions for the 2025-26 session, nearly 7,000 undergraduate seats remain vacant at DU.
To fill these, DU has launched a “mop-up” round — using Class 12 marks (rather than entrance test scores) — providing a last chance for students who missed earlier admissions to secure a seat.
DU Earns Top Accreditation Grade (NAAC A++)
In 2025, DU was awarded the highest possible grade — A++ — by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), with a cumulative CGPA of 3.55.
This reflects positively on the university’s academic standards, research output, and administrative practices.
